چکیده

Abstract Drinking water contains emerging contaminants, i.e., endocrine disrupting compounds (EDCs). However, the extent to which it is publicly viewed as a potential risk that requires attention (public awareness, political obligation, and regulatory efforts) substantially underrated. Thus, this study investigated drinking consumption patterns among consumers of different life stages, evaluated household practices using tap daily water, examined actual well consumers’ perception quality for with EDCs contamination. Collectively, present great concern regional database profiling supporting human health assessment in regulating contamination exposure EDCs. It also provides an empirical theoretical contribution current public promoted formulation communication governance strategies development behaviors adopting participation supply system monitoring management framework.

Are Endocrine Disrupting Compounds a Health Risk in Drinking Water?

There has been a great deal of international discussion on the nature and relevance of endocrine disrupting compounds in the environment. Changes in reproductive organs of fish and mollusks have been demonstrated in rivers downstream of sewage discharges in Europe and in North America, which have been attributed to estrogenic compounds in the effluent. The anatomical and physiological changes i...

Endocrine Disrupting Compounds – Problems and Challenges

In this chapter, information about some of the estrogenic compounds and their environmental fate and biological influence can be found. Special attention is paid to the review of the analytical approaches used at the stages of detection and determi‐ nation of Endocrine Disrupting Compounds (EDCs) in the environmental samples. Also, a brief characterization of both cellular and non-cellular bioa...

Fungal Laccases Degradation of Endocrine Disrupting Compounds

Over the past decades, water pollution by trace organic compounds (ng/L) has become one of the key environmental issues in developed countries. This is the case of the emerging contaminants called endocrine disrupting compounds (EDCs). EDCs are a new class of environmental pollutants able to mimic or antagonize the effects of endogenous hormones, and are recently drawing scientific and public a...
